Inspired by James Bond movies, cossack riders, and the dressage performances of Hasta Luego, Laurent Serre, known as Lorenzo “The Flying Frenchman,” has taken liberty riding to a new level. You really do have to see it to appreciate the beauty, skill and teamwork. The scenes on the beach are breathtaking.

Lorenzo, 28, grew up in Les Saintes Maries de la Mer in southern France. Enthralled by a local performance of acrobats on horseback, when he was seven, he tried some of their techniques on his mother’s pony. By the time he was 11, he had purchased his first Camargue horse and was performing himself.

Today, Lorenzo perfects his routines on the beach and in the water near Les Saintes Maries de la Mer and performs at many prestigious venues around the world.
