
On Saturday, December 6, Session IV of the NCHA Futurity Sales Preferred Breeders Sale, produced by Western Bloodstock, grossed over $6.5 million and averaged $47,996 on 136 horses, including nine that each sold for $100,000 or more.
Overall, the four 2025 Preferred Breeders Sale Sessions marked a record-setting average of $46,073, grossed over $24.6 million on 536 head, and showed a spike of 20 percent in yearling and broodmare sales compared to 2024.
Collectively, seven-days of 2025 NCHA Futurity Sales, including three 2-Year-Old sessions and the Cutting Horse Sale, averaged $57,861 and grossed over $44.3 million.
Billy Wolf, agent, Whitesboro, TX, breeder of Lastingg Legacy, who he sold for $300,000 in Friday’s Preferred Breeders Sale Session III, came back Saturday and purchased Session IV’s two top sellers, Missy Von and Exotic Mink.
Missy Von, a yearling blue roan filly sired by Stevie Rey Von, brought $405,000, the Preferred Breeders Sale Session IV’s highest price. Bred and consigned by Slate River Ranch, Missy Von is a full sister to 2022 NCHA Futurity Open finalist and Open Gelding Champion Wombatt LTE $127,912, among 13 money earners of $1,055,321 million out of Play Miss LTE $180,165, including NCHA multiple major event Non-Pro Champion Flash About LTE $246,087.
Exotic Mink, a bay roan filly consigned by JC Sale Fitting, agent for Noah and Tammy Sodrel, commanded a price of $310,000. Sired by Metallic Rey Mink, Exotic Mink is out of Smart Little Lena daughter Little Exotic Dancer LTE $85,882, who has earners of $292,261. Her second dam is Little Belly Dancer LTE $91,208 with earners of $922,206 , out of Miss Echo Wood, whose foals have earned $1.38 million.
Third Base, consigned by Holmes Performance Horses/Linda Holmes, brought $250,000, Sessions IV’s third-highest price, from Kathleen Moore, Madill, OK. The red roan filly, sired by Third Edge, is a three-quarter sister to Taliate LTE $329,199; second dam Rey To Play LTE $166,305, by Dual Rey is the dam of Little Jackson Cat $320,417, NCHA Open World Champion.
Holmes Performance Horses/Linda Holmes topped Preferred Breeders Sale Session II on December 4th with the sale of yearling filly Mable Greyble for $255,000.
