Chad Bushaw earned the biggest piece of the non-pro earnings pie at the recently concluded Music City Cutting Horse Futurity in Nashville, TN. Bushaw, a financial executive from Weatherford, TX, won the 3-year-old “pencil” finals (combined scores from two go-rounds) on Will You Play; was reserve champion of the  5 & 6-year-old division with Snow Rey; and rode three other top ranked finalists. Altogether, he earned $46,883.

Julie Hansma made $18,185 as champion of the 4-year-old division on Too Bossy, by CD Lights, while Kayla Norris was champion of the 5/6 Classic on Playgun daughter Kual Gun for winnings of $17,444. Norris also won the championship of the 2009 NCHA Super Stakes Amateur Classic aboard Kual Gun. Too Bossy was an NCHA Futurity Non-Pro finalist under former owner, Mica Motes. Will Play, a gelded son of Playdox, also carried Bushaw to wins in the non-pro and non-pro gelding divisions of the West Texas Futurity.

Bushaw, former NCHA Futurity Non-Pro champion on Jerryoes in 2001, won the 2008 Music City Non-Pro on the Dual Rey son Snow Rey, earner of over $135,000.

Bushaw, 36, is ranked sixth among all-time non-pro money earners with $1.89 million.
