On Monday, December 4th, Western Bloodstock’s 2023 NCHA Futurity Sales began on a high note, and on Saturday, December 9th, they concluded in Session III of the Preferred Breeders Sales with a crescendo.
Overall the week realized a grand average of $57,767, while the sale of 83 horses for $100,000 or more smashed the 2022 NCHA Futurity Sales record of 66.
Session III of the Preferred Breeders Sales averaged $41,619 with 84% completed sales, and combined, the three sessions of the Preferred Breeders Sales averaged $37,969 with 87% completed sales.
Sessions III’s high seller, at $200,000, was Exoteak, by Rollz Royce. Consigned by Double Dove Ranch, the yearling bay filly was purchased by Ty Moore, Madill, Okla., who also purchased Right Kina Reycy, consigned by Double Dove Ranch, for $175,000.
Exoteak’s dam, Little Exotic Dancer LTE $85,882, by Smart Little Lena, is the dam of five money earners, including Exotic Ride LTE $69,995, by Im Countin Checks, and Cowgirlbluz LTE $55,001, by Once In A Blue Boon. Second dam Little Belly Dancer LTE $91,208, by High Brow Hickory, is half-sister, out of $1.4 million producer Miss Echo Wood, to Woodys Wildest Cat LTE $345,935) and Miss Woody Two Shoes LTE $143,635, the dam of Swing Wide LTE $310,431.
Right Kina Reycy, a yearling bay filly by Badboonarising, is out of the Dual Rey daughter Twice As Reycy LTE $198,361, the dam of 11 money earners of $1,351,377, including Pedel To The Metall LTE $299,273, by Metallic Cat; NCHA Open Horse of the Year Twice In Santiago LTE $276,587, by Once In A Blue Boon; Reycy Moon LTE $209,363, by Cats Moonshine; Reybels Cause LTE $189,083, by Metallic Rebel; and Under The Reydar LTE $118,752, by Halreycious.
Right After You, a sorrel yearling Metallic Cat filly, brought $170,000, Session III’s third-highest price. Consigned by Jeremy Barwick and purchased by Debbie Moore, Bluff Dale, Tex., Right After You is out of the Dual Rey daughter Reys Desire LTE $409,603, dam of 15 money earners of $763,916, including Mr Luckys LTE $130,201, by High Brow Cat; Metallic Hill LTE $120,711, by Metallic Cat; and Desires Time LTE $96,904, by One Time Pepto. In addition, Right After You’s second dam is Playguns Desire LTE $124,352, whose foals have earned $962,000.
Sixteen-year-old Cat Mom Do LTE $200,890, also consigned by Double Dove Ranch, sold for $160,000 to William Morris V, Augusta, Ga. Sired by High Brow Cat out of Moms Stylish Babe, the dam of earners of more than $1.47 million, Cat Mom Do sold with two embryos, one by Once In A Blu Boon, and one by CR Gotcha Covered.
