High seller Reynshine
Reynshine, a 9-year-old stallion sired by Dual Rey, brought $30,000, to top the inaugural Western Fall Roundup Sale, produced by Western Bloodstock at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Ark., on September 6, 2014.

Altogether, 107 lots of all ages, types, and breeds of Western performance horses, from an offering of 153 sold (70 percent) for an average of $3,652, with a top ten average of $12,140.

“It was a very good sale,” said Western Bloodstock’s Jeremy Barwick. “I felt we needed options to meet the needs of everyone and not just the owners who have cutting horses of the caliber that sell well in Fort Worth. I want to have a market for everyone, with a roster of sales that can accommodate everything from the $2,000 horse to the $500,000 horse.”

Reynshine, a 9-year-old stallion and earner of $118,807, was consigned by PJ Cutters LLC and purchased by Bill Coon, Spickard, MO. The Dual Rey son, the 2008 NCHA Futurity Ltd. Open Reserve Champion, sold while working cattle under trainer Clay Johnson.

Instant Cat was the high-selling gelding at $20,000. The 8-year-old son of High Brow Cat and NCHA earner of $40,894, was consigned by Kelsey Weeks and sold to Tom O’Neil, Monroe, La., while working cattle under trainer Clay Johnson.

Cutest Kitty Ever, a 5-year-old mare in training with Zach Combs, sold for $15,000 to Alan Chappell, Gainesville, Tex. The Smooth As A Cat daughter and NCHA money earner, whose second dam is all-time leading producer Royal Blue Boon, with earners of $2.46 million, was consigned by VP Cutting Horses LLC.

Spitfire Kitty, an NCHA amateur money earner was the high-selling 4-year-old at $8,800. The Athena Puddy Cat daughter, consigned by 3D Livestock, was purchased by Oswaldo Celis, Valencia, Venezuela.

Martha Josey, Karnack, Tex., purchased the high-selling 3-year-old, Look At This, for $8,200. The chestnut overo daughter of Gimme, shown working under trainer Brett Davis, was consigned by Johnny W. Brown.

Reydarluv, nominated for the NCHA Super Stakes, was the high-selling yearling at $8,000. Consigned by Rick and Shelly Mowery and purchased by Judy Walden, Buda, Tex., the red roan daughter of Boon A Little is out of a daughter of NCHA Futurity Open champion producer Some Kinda Playgirl.

The next sale on Western Bloodstock’s agenda is the Big Bash on the Brazos, for cutting horses from 2-years-old to six-years-old on cattle, Tuesday, September 23, at Silverado Arena, Weatherford, Tex. The NCHA Futurity Sale, for which entries are still being accepted, is scheduled for December 8 through 13 at Will Rogers Equestrian Center, Fort Worth, Tex.

The Western Winter Roundup, Saturday, January 10, at the Oklahoma State Fair Park, Oklahoma City, Okla., is the first sale on Western Bloodstock’s 2015 calendar. As with the Western Fall Roundup Sale it is for all ages, types, and breeds of Western performance horses, with a consignment fee of $250 and no pass out fee.
