The 2008 Tunica Futurity concluded on Tuesday, February 10 with the 4-year-old Non-Pro Finals, won by rancher Jimmy Kemp, 61, Eastland TX. Kemp scored 217.5 points on Fantastic Plastic, a Whittle Mike O Dual daughter; Philip Layne was reserve champion with 216 points on Hills Rim Shot, by Playgun.

It was the second championship title for Fantastic Plastic, who won the Idaho Open Futurity last fall under Will Nuttall, and was also a Tunica Open finalist with Neil Roger.

Kemp also finished fifth with 211 points on Pepto Boom, by Peptoboonsmal, and was a dual finalist on I Ben Thinking and MH For The Money in the Non-Pro Tunica Classic on Monday, where Sasha Thompson and Brad Wilson scored 220 points to tie for the win. Thompson rode Smart Shiny Bet, by The Smart Bet, while Wilson was atop Redneck Style, by Peptos Stylish Oak.
