Milton Greeson of Victoria, Texas, marked 219 on A Spoonful Of Style to top the qualifiers for the $15,000 Novice Non-Pro at the 6666 Ranch NCHA Western National Championships. Twenty-six contestants marked 209 or better to qualify for Saturday’s finals.

Bred by Terry Riddle, A Spoonful Of Style is by Hes A Peptospoonful out of Stylish Santa Belle, from the family of $700,000 producer Santa Belle. A Spoonful Of Style, an 8-year-old gelding, has earned over $150,000, and carried Amanda Gamblin to the $2,000 Limited Rider finals at the Western Nationals last week.

Milton Greeson rode A Spoonful Of Style in the Non-Pro finals at the 6666 Ranch NCHA Eastern National Championships in March, as well as last year.

Canadian cutter Amanda Smith marked the second highest score in the $15,000 Novice Non-Pro go-round, a 218 on Whirl N Play, a 9-year-old CD Whirl mare bred by Carl Gerwien’s Willow Spring Ranch.
