Sired by Pepto Stylish Oak and owned by Barnwell Ramsey, Huntersville, NC, Peptos Stylish Pancho marked the second-highest score (216) of the first go-round and 212 in the second go-round. Shaka Red Feather with Todd Gann was the go-round leader with 217 and 216 points.

It was the second consecutive Southern Futurity win and the fifth Southern title for Thompson, who won last year’s event on Dualin Mate, and the Southern Classic on Kits Corona Playboy, both owned by Lisa and Jamie Johnson, Benson, NC. Thompson was also champion of the 2006 NCHA Open Futurity on Oh Cay Felix.
