All 32 living, past NCHA Futurity champion riders have been invited to participate in a special, one-time NCHA Futurity Champions Cup, during the 50th anniversary edition of the NCHA Futurity, November 21 through December 10, at Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth.

The Neiman Marcus/NCHA Futurity Champions Cup, presented by the Jerry Durant Auto Group, will be held in Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, November 26, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Past champions are eligible to ride any horse of their choice.

Buster Welch, 83, winner of an unprecedented five NCHA Futurity championships, as well as the inaugural NCHA Futurity in 1962, was one of the first past champions to accept the invitation to ride.

While there are no age restrictions for their horses, riders will compete in one of three age groups – 50 years and under; 51 to 65; 65 and older – with the winner of each division receiving a special edition Champions Cup buckle.

“The 50th NCHA Futurity gives us a unique opportunity to honor our past champions in a format that will appeal to cutting horse fans everywhere,” said NCHA executive director Jeff Hooper. “By bringing together great riders from a span of five decades, with some of the top horses in training today, the Futurity Champions Cup promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

General admission to the NCHA Futurity Champions Cup is $10, with proceeds to benefit the NCHA Foundation. Tickets will be available for purchase at nchacutting.com starting Monday, Oct. 3. Ticket numbers will be drawn at the Champions Cup to determine the winner of a voucher for $15,000 off the purchase price of any new vehicle from Jerry Durant Auto Group of Weatherford. Durant is the official Triple Crown Auto Dealership of NCHA.

Also as part of the Champions Cup festivities, on Friday evening, November 25, Neiman Marcus will host a Futurity Champions Cup party, for all NCHA members, at their Ridgmar Mall store in Fort Worth.

All living NCHA Futurity champion horses are invited to be on hand for Super Stallion Saturday, presented by Western Bloodstock, the auction company that produces NCHA Futurity, Super Stakes and Summer Spectacular Sales. Super Stallion Saturday, an all day event where horses are on view in Will Rogers’ Watt Arena, begins at 9:00 a.m. on December 10, preceding the NCHA Futurity Seasoned Cutting Horse Sale.
