SVR Reyl Smart took off the wraps at the Arbuckle Mountain Futurity, which concluded on Tuesday, March 2 in Ardmore, Okla. Shown by Beau Galyean for breeder Strawn Valley Ranch, the Dual Rey colt scored 221 points to earn his first career payout – $20,000 (est).

Dont Look Twice and Phil Rapp won the event’s 5/6-Year-Old Classic last week, while Ashley Snider on Sly Chance and Ashley Flynn on Smart Cat Frosty won the Non-Pro Futurity and Non-Pro Classic, respectively.

SVR Reyl Smart is a full brother to Dual Smart Rey, 2006 NCHA Super Stakes champion under Phil Rapp, and the earner of $257,553. Their dam, The Smart Look, has produced four winners of over $200,000 each: Dual Smart Rey; WR This Cats Smart ($236,514), One Smart Lookin Cat ($225,310); and Smart Lookin Hi Brow ($216,395).

No other mare in history has produced four $200,000-plus NCHA money earners.

The Smart Look, who was bred by Bill and Karen Freeman and foaled in 1988, has produced 12 money earners with official combined earnings of $1,090,371 and an average of $90,864.
