Celebrity is a matter of perspective. Like Hollywood, the horse industry has its stars, and sometimes they even reflect the silver screen. Just for fun, I thought I would share some “pairings,” many of which have come from the equine crowd, including Jo Ellard, (left) who came to my mind as Cameron Diaz (right) made a presentation during the recent Academy Awards.

Ellard and her husband Bill own EE Ranches and Stallion Station in Whitesboro, TX, which stands some of the cutting world’s top stallions, including Dual Rey, Spots Hot and Cat Ichi, who is owned and was bred by the Ellards. Jo Ellard is a non-pro cutting competitor and an NCHA Hall of Fame member.

Guy Woods, (left) EE Ranches’ resident trainer for nearly two decades, is also an NCHA Hall of Fame member. Last year, Woods won the first ever Extreme Mustang Makeover in Fort Worth. Woods look-alike Simon Cowell from American Idol is on the right.
