
Western Bloodstock launched the 2025 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales on Friday, October 17, at Will Rogers Equestrian Center, Fort Worth, TX, where five horses sold for $100,000 or more and a $260,000 individual sale crowned the day. Both records exceeded last year’s first day, boosting the $37,149 average by 13% over last year’s results, and topping 2024’s record of $250,000.
In addition, 93% of the Yearling/Broodmare Session I consignments sold, including the day’s high-seller, Ringwoods Roan Edge, consigned by JC Sale Fitting for Sarah Deane Ringwood and purchased for $260,000 by June Scripps, Fredonia, TX.
Ringwoods Roan Edge, is a yearling red roan colt sired by Third Edge, the 2022 NCHA Horse of the Year, who last month sold for an all-time record of $5,600,000, at the Absolute Dispersal Sale of Teton Ridge Performance Horses, managed by Western Bloodstock.
Ringwoods Roan Edge’s dam, Abbey Roan, by One Time Pepto, is a NRCHA money earner and the dam of 8 money earners, including major open finalists Hustle And Flo and U Got Served. Second dam, Stylin Jewel, by Docs Stylish Oak LTE $67,945, is the dam of 12 money earners of $600,371, including the One Time Pepto colt Peptos Stylin Time LTE $251,344, a Run For A Million RCH Challenge Open Champion.
Wish I Woulda Called, a yearling bay colt sired by Call Me Mitch, sold for $150,000, the day’s second-highest price. Consigned by Ray Shell Ranch and purchased by Sara Hamilton, Blanco, TX., Wish I Woulda Called is out of the Soula Jule Star daughter Wisha Pona Star LTE $46,783, NRCHA Amateur Futurity Reserve Champion and AQHYA and AQHA Youth Champion.
Two 2-year-olds sold for $100,000 or more on Friday. The red roan colt Reypublican, in training with and consigned by Jess Valimont, agent for Southern Ranches, brought $140,000 from Kimberly Syra, Veguita, NM.
Sired by NCHA Futurity Open Champion Stevie Rey Von LTE $420,903, a leading NRCHA sire with combined NCHA and NRCHA offspring earners of $19,953,670, Reypublican is the oldest foal out of One Time Silver Girl, by Blue One Time. His second dam, Silver Boomer, by Peptoboonsmal, is a three-quarter sister to The Silver Spoon LTE $238,255, an NCHA Open Futurity, Derby, and Super Stakes finalist by Hes A Peptospoonful.
Two-year-old Tuff Man, in training with and consigned by Ty Benson, as agent for Ty Smith, sold for $100,000 to Jay McLaughlin, Amarillo, TX. The Woody Be Tuff-sired sorrel colt is a half-brother, out of Peptos Opus Cat LTE $87,456, to Opus Special LTE $67,032 and Talks to Angels LTE $56,002, both NCHA limited age event finalists sired by Smooth Talkin Style.
SJR Diamond Rock, a yearling AQHA/APHA sorrel colt, consigned by San Juan Ranch, realized $100,000 from Florence Hix, Colbert, GA. Sired by NCHA Futurity Champion Stevie Rey Von $420,930, a leading NRCHA and NCHA sire, as well as sire of NRCHA Open Futurity Champion Tornado Jonez LTE $265,431, SJR Diamond Rock is out of Shiners Diamond Girl, by Shining Spark.
Shiners Diamond Girl LTE $67,549 is the dam of 17 money earners of $779,915, including SJR Talkin Diamonds LTE $203,712, NRCHA Celebration of Champions Open Derby Reserve Champion and CD Diamond LTE $153,320, NRCHA Open Futurity Champion.
The 2025 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales continue through Saturday, October 18th with the Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale Session II, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Watt Arena.
