The 2021 NCHA Metallic Cat Futurity begins its final week of competition on Monday, December 6, at Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Equestrian Center, as the NCHA Futurity Sales launches its six-day schedule, beginning with Session I of the NCHA Futurity 2-Year-Old Sale.

Last year’s sale shattered all-time records beginning on the first day, when Wood She B Magic sold for a record price of $1,050,000. During the first week of this year’s Futurity Open go-rounds, the Woody B Tuff daughter qualified with the second-highest average score going into the Futurity Open Semi-Finals.

Wood She B Magic, owned by Billy Wolf and shown by Austin Shepard, is among 25 of the 82 Open Semi-Finalists – 30% – sold and transferred to new buyers during previous Western Bloodstock produced sales.

Wood She B Magic and the 24 other Western Bloodstock graduates who qualified for the Semi-Finals will automatically be eligible for the Ben Emison – Milt Bradford Western Bloodstock Incentive, which pays out $100,000 (50%, 30%, 20%) to the three highest advancing Open Futurity competitors.

While Wood She B Magic and Open Semi-Finals top qualifier Konna, sired by High Brow Cat and shown by Tatum Rice for Milner Enterprises LLC, were among 22 of the 2020 NCHA Futurity Sales graduates who sold for $100,000 or more, the 2021 Western Bloodstock Open Semi-Finalist graduates cover a wide range of prices, including three who sold for less than $10,000.

All 2021 NCHA Futurity Sales graduates, along with all weanlings, yearlings, 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds sold and transferred to the new buyers at any Western Bloodstock Sales throughout the year are automatically nominated to the Ben Emison – Milt Bradford $100,000 Western Bloodstock Incentive.
