Brody Magby, Wilburton, Okla., scored 223 points with One Sneaky Bluegrass on Tuesday, to top the go-round of the Junior Youth division of the NCHA Foundation Scholarship Cutting. Emma Rapp, Weatherford, Tex., was second with 222 points on Reyzin, and Will Bushaw, Weatherford, Tex., was third with 220.5 points aboard Velvets Revolver.

Thirteen-year-old Brody Magby qualified for her first NCHA Scholarship Cutting Finals in 2015, when she was nine, riding Checkers Live Oak. She placed third in the Finals in 2017 with Little Moria Kittens, and seventh last year on One Sneaky Bluegrass. Sired by Bluegrass Cat, 6-year-old One Sneaky Bluegrass LTE $121,728 is owned by Browne Enterprises LLP, Wilburton, Okla., and was shown last week by Eric Magby, to place fourth in both the NCHA Classic Challenge Open Finals and the Open Limited Finals.

Emma Rapp, 13, claimed the reserve championship of the NCHA Scholarship Cutting in 2017 and 2018 riding Reyzin LTE $417,007, the NCHA Non-Pro Horse of the Year in 2013, shown by Mary Ann Rapp. Owned by Gale Force Quarter Horses, Conway, S.C., Reyzin, sired by High Brow CD, was bred by Emma’s parent, Phil and Mary Ann Rapp, and trained and shown by Phil Rapp. Emma is also showing Reyzin this week in the Holy Cow Performance Horses Junior Youth World Finals.

Will Bushaw was a Junior Youth Scholarship finalist last year showing Velvets Revolver, and he placed in the 2018 NYCHA World Finals with Smooth As A Twist. Will is also the NCHA earner of $62,519 and a three-time NCHA Futurity Amateur Finalist. Seven-year-old Velvets Revolver LTE $270,604, by WR This Cats Smart, is owned by Crown Ranch LP, Weatherford, Tex.

The Junior and Senior Youth Scholarships Finals will be held on Friday, July 26.

Makayla Cowan of Ardmore, Okla. marked 218 on Brinking Lights to lead the first round of the Holy Cow Performance Horses Senior Youth World Finals. She came into the World Finals tied for 11th place in the World Standings. She and Brinking Lights won the Senior Youth championship at The Non-Pro Cutting this year, and were champions of that show’s $15,000 Amateur class last year.

Jimmie Annoot placed second in the first round of the World Finals with a 217.5 on Smooth Flowing Cat. Christina Huntley, who is leading the world, placed third with a 217 on Ripping Ichi.

Lyndi Polk of Edwards, Miss., marked 222.5 to lead the first round of the Junior Youth World Finals, moving into the lead for the World Championship. They were Junior Youth finalists at the NCHA Eastern Nationals earlier this year. Polk came into the World Finals ranked second in the standings, just one point behind Charles Cody Gann.

Breanna Collier marked 219 for second in the first round of the World Finals, riding Smartys Boon. Gann placed third with a 218.5 on Hevvy Metal.
