The 2019 Mid-Year Cutting Horse Sale, on Saturday, July 20th, during the Metallic Cat NCHA Summer Spectacular in Fort Worth, saw an increase in completed sales – 83% compared to 77% – over the 2018 sale. Altogether, 86 horses sold for $1,068,900 and an average of $12,429, while the top 12 sold for an average of $30,666.

Rey Reddington LTE $33,304, a 5-year-old Dual Rey gelding, trained and shown by Lee Francois and consigned by Lee and Holly Francois, brought $50,000, the high price of the sale. A half-brother to 10 NCHA money earners, Rey Reddington sold to Dana Russell, Morgan, Utah.

Some Like The Reyn LTE $10,120, a 4-year-old filly trained by Wesley Galyean and consigned by Wesley and Kristen Galyean, brought $47,000, the sale’s second-highest price, from Jason Britt, Seven Springs, N.C. Sired by Dual Smart Rey, Some Like The Reyn is a half-sister to Some Likeit Metallic LTE $104,315, out of Some Like It Hott LTE $183,383, reserve champion of the 2010 NCHA Open Futurity.

Seven-year-old Chrome Catillac LTE $100,103, consigned by Ellen Ganey, sold for $47,000 to Todd Bro, Roosevelt, Utah. The red roan Metallic Cat gelding, originally trained by Beau Galyean, sold in training with Gabe Reynolds.

Four-year-old Sugar Railena LTE $10,005, consigned by Brett and Jody McGlothlin, and in training with Brett McGlothlin, sold for $35,000 to Crockett Sand & Gravel, Inc., Crockett, Tex. The Kit Kat Sugar daughter is a half-sister to 2017 NCHA Futurity Open champion Dual Reyish LTE $384,682; Hay U LTE $200,245; and Rey To Sly LTE $103,208, as well as to six other NCHA money earners.

LHR Jamie Maybe Ichi was the sale’s highest selling 3-year-old, at $30,000. The Cat Ichi daughter, out of LHR Smooth Jamie May LTE $251,430, 2010 NCHA Open Horse of the Year, was consigned by James and Debbie Glover and purchased by Von Sutten, Weatherford, Tex.

A weanling colt (name pending), sired by Metallic Rebel and half-brother to Sly Playgirl LTE $343,467, was the high-selling stallion of the sale. Consigned by Jaime and Ashley Snider, he was purchased by James Karhan, Blanco, Tex. And the yearling colt Sundae Rebel, by Metallic Rebel, brought $16,000. Consigned by Ten/27 Ranch and purchased by Alan Chappell, Collinsville, Tex., Sundae Rebel’s dam is a half-sister to Jeeps Posi Traction LTE $343,306.
