As the Mercuria NCHA World Finals came down to the wire on Saturday, four more show winners emerged ahead of the evening’s Non-Pro and Open showdowns.

In the $5,000 Novice, Mike Wood and Buzzted marked 222.5 to win the second round and the non-working finals to earn a winning $3,981 at the World Finals.

Bred by Billy Martin by Light N Lena and owned by Christine King of Scottsdale, Arizona, Buzzted has career earnings of $230,000, highlighted by an NCHA Derby championship with Sean Flynn in 2013.

He finished the year in third place behind World Champion Hes Gotta Be Good, ridden by Tom Long for Phyllis Sorbet; and CR Kitts Gotta Gun, ridden by Gavin Jordan for Patty Walker.

This is the third straight year Wood has won the $5,000 Novice at the Mercuria NCHA World Finals. He scored with Scoot Justa Lil in 2014 and with Clays Little Kit Cat last year.

After winning the first round, Ed Wold and Big Bow Pepto tied for third in the second round to take the pencil final by half a point. That gave him $3,889 to win the Mercuria NCHA World Finals in the $50,000 Novice.

Bred by Alexa Stent, Big Bow Pepto is by Peptoboonsmal out of Bowmans Little Jewel, a mare that won the Pacific Coast Cutting Stakes and earned $76,000. She has produced earners of $898,000.

Big Bow Pepto has earned more than $147,000 and was champion of the 6666 Ranch NCHA Eastern Nationals in the Open in 2014.

Shane Crawford of Mount Olive, Mississippi marked 218 to win the second round on his way to the World Championship. He rode War Dually to finish the year with earnings of $49,818.

Karen Boughnou and Copenhagen Cat is Reserve World Champion with $40,202.

Jill Roth of Paso Robles, California, won the second round with a 225, the non-working finals, the show championship and the World Championship in the $25,000 Novice Non-Pro, riding Bea Pure Cat.

Bea Pure Cat was bred by Jim Crawford and is a full brother to 2012 NCHA Futurity champ He Bea Cat, by High Brow Cat out of Mae Bea Marie. Roth won the 5/6-year-old Unlimited Amateur with the gelding last year at the Pacific Coast Futurity. Bea Pure Cat has earned more than $114,000.

He got $3,797 of that at the World Finals, and finished the year with $35,518.

Lil Luigi Long Legs, shown by Sherry Graham, is the Reserve World Champion with $32,148.

Roth won both the World Finals and the World Championship in the $50,000 Amateur in 2013 with CD Headlight.

Eric Schmoyer of Macungie, Pennsylvania, was batting a thousand at the Mercuria NCHA World Finals. He won all three rounds of the $15,000 Amateur division to take the show title as well as the World Championship.

Ms Nita was bred by Kathleen Moore by Nitas Wood out of Teninas Tango, by Freckles Fancy Twist. The 8-year-old mare was a Limited Non-Pro and Limited Open NCHA Futurity finalist with Moore, and Rowdy Larson, respectively. She has earned more than $61,000.

Schmoyer marked 222 and 220.5 in the go-rounds to win the pencil finals by more than 11 points. His $2,820 at the World Finals gave him the show championship and his $17,670 for the World Championship.

Jim Townsend is the Reserve World Champion with $13,394.
