On Wednesday, July 15, Duramax Dually LTE $209,178, reserve champion of the 2019 NCHA Classic Challenge, scored 226 points to this time claim the winner’s trophy, in the NCHA Metallic Cat Summer Spectacular Open Classic Challenge. Bred and owned by Glover/Galyean Partnership, Claremore, Okla., and shown by Wesley Galyean, the Dual Rey-sired stallion came into the NCHA Summer Spectacular following a 230-point win in the 2020 Non-Pro Plus 5/6 Open at Ardmore, Okla. The NCHA Classic Challenge win adds $19,934 to his official NCHA earnings.

Catillac Reys LTE $200,008, reserve champion of the 2018 NCHA Derby, scored 225 points for Wednesday’s reserve championship. Shown by Adan Banuelos for Ten/27 Ranch, Denham Springs, La., the 6-year-old Metallic Cat son earned $17,568 for second-place, plus the  winner’s share as champion gelding. In addition, he received the $40,000 Metallic Cat Incentive winner’s award, and $25,000 from the Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA) Incentive. Catillac Reys was bred and foaled in Texas by Michelle Cannon, Waxahacie, Tex.

Reystylin Smooth LTE $207,085 placed third with 224 points, shown also by Adan Banuelos for Ten/27 Ranch, Denham Springs, La. The six-year-old Smooth As A Cat gelding was shown earlier this year by owner Todd Quirk for Non-Pro championship wins in the Ike Hamilton 5/6 Year-Old Classic and the Bonanza 5/6 Year-Old Classic.

Five-year-old Summer Time Fun LTE $97,136, co-champion of the 2019 NCHA Metallic Cat Derby, scored 221 points for fourth place under James Payne for owner and breeder Ty Moore, Madill, Okla. The Metallic Cat daughter had been recipient of the 2019 Metallic Cat Incentive, which she split with co-champion Caution Piping Hot.

The NCHA Classic Challenge Open go-round cumulative leader, Badboonarising LTE $289,845, was also shown by Adan Banuelos to place fifth with 220 points in Wednesday’s finals. The 5-year-old  Once In A Blu Boon son is owned by Plantation Farms, Denham, La.
