Ms Zee LTE $8,569, the first horse to the first herd of the 2019 NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes Open go-round competition, set the pace on Sunday, with 219 points under Chris Hanson, for Charles Burger.  Sired by Smooth As A Cat and out of million-dollar producer Zee Dualy, Miss Zee is a three-quarter sister to Eazee E, the dam of 2018 NCHA Futurity Open champion Crey Zee LTE $245,015, who worked fifth in the first herd with Tatum Rice and scored 217.5 points.

It was NCHA Futurity Open semi-finalist Summer Time Fun, however, third to work following Crey Zee, who topped the set, as well 82 other entries, with 220 points, under James Payne. Bred by her owner, Ty Moore, and sired by Metallic Cat, Summer Time Fun is a full sister to Let Georgie Do It LTE $145,521, and out of Georgy Girl, by Wild Thing DNA.

Tatum Rice, riding in the third set, posted 219.5 points, the second-highest score of the day, aboard Miss Kitty Russel LTE $44,019, bred and owned by Kevin and Sydney Knight, also the breeders and owners of Crey Zee, by Dual Rey. Miss Kitty Russel, by High Brow Cat, was a money earner for Kylie Knight Rice in the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro Semi-Finals.

Four horses claimed 219 points, Sunday’s third-highest mark, including Hiss N Vinegar LTE $77,433, shown by Phil Hanson, who rode her to place seventh in the NCHA Futurity and as a finalist in the Arbuckle Mountain Futurity. The Dual Smart Rey daughter was bred and is owned by Jeffrey and Jennifer Foland. Her dam, Hissy Cat LTE $307,009, the producer of 19 NCHA earners of $932,163, placed fourth in the 2007 NCHA Super Stakes and the 2009 Super Stakes Classic under Darren Simpkins.

A Cat Named Johnny LTE $34,434, shown by Sean Flynn for Bobby Ray and Mary Jo Hawkins, also earned 219 points. The Metallic Cat gelding was an NCHA Futurity Open Semi-Finalist and a finalist in the Abilene Spectacular and the Ike Hamilton Futurity with Flynn, as well.

Ten Blade LTE $27,186 earned 219 points with Geoffrey Sheehan for Beechfork Ranch. The High Brow Cat gelding placed third in the 2018 Cotton Stakes Futurity with Austin Shepard and fifth in the West Texas Futurity with Sheehan. This year, Ten Blade and Sheehan have earned finalist checks at Arbuckle Mountain and the Cattlemen’s Derby.

The Countess LTE $1,368 also earned 219 points for her owner and rider Casey Green. The Metallic Cat daughter is out of Lively Dual LTE $20,790, by Dual Rey.

NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes Open go-round competition continues daily through Thursday, April 4; with Semi-Finals on Friday, April 5, and the Finals on Saturday, April 6.
