It was a dominant 219-point win for five-year-old Lil Jackson Cat, shown by Nate Miller for Tom and Natalie Humphreville, Glenwood, NM, in the Classic Challenge Open Limited finals, on Monday, July 20 during the NCHA Summer Spectacular.

Hisstereya, with Nate Lansford for Jennifer and Jeffrey Foland, and Ima Hot Model, under Greg Wright for Lincoln and Bonnie Clifford tied for second with 214.5 points.

“The first cow really started her off good, right in the center of the pen,” said Miller. “We liked that cow when they settled and that is what we went down there to cut first. She’s been good every time I’ve shown her here, so I was confident that if I did my job, she would do hers.”

Prior to the Classic Challenge Limited, Lil Jackson Cat, by High Brow Cat, most recently placed tenth in the 2015 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Open Limited and had career earnings of $49,953. She earned $4,272 for Monday’s win. But her debut came as a finalist in the 2013 NCHA Futurity Limited Open.

The Humphrevilles purchased Lil Jackson Cat as a yearling, for $100,000, at the 2011 NCHA Futurity Sales, after her two-year-old full brother, High Brow Jackson was “passed out” at $330,000. High Brow Jackson would go on to earn $236,384 and place as reserve champion of the NCHA Futurity Open Limited and champion of the 2013 NCHA Super Stakes Open Limited with Monty Buntin.

Hisstereya, LTE $103,338, by Dual Rey out of Hissy Cat, was the last to work in the 10-horse finals, while 5-year-old Ima Hot Model, LTE $10,068, by Spots Hot, drew seventh.
