Cody Green and Khaleesi Kat scored 217.5 points on Sunday, April 7, to win the NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes Open Limited championship for Kathleen Moore, Madill, Okla. Armando Costa Neto and Arosesuchastyle, scored 217 points and the reserve championship for Fazenda Barrinha Corporation, Weatherford, Tex., while Ryan Moore and Pepsi Boon placed third with 216.5 points for Jerry and Luann Jeffries, Naylor, Mo.

Khaleesi Kat, by Bet Hesa Cat, made her debut in the NCHA Futurity, where she placed eighth in the Non-Pro Finals with owner Kathleen Moore, and was a finalist with Green in the Limited Open Finals. Most recently, Khaleesi Kat and Green qualified for the Super Stakes Open Finals with 219.5 points, the second-highest score in the Semi-Finals, and earned $18,762 in the Open Finals.

Moore purchased Khaleesi Kat in the 2017 Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales from the Ten/27 Ranch, Denham Springs, La. Out of KD Shorty LTE $227,987, by Kit Dual, Khaleesi Kat is a three-quarter sister to Acatbequick LTE $52,894, bred by Elizabeth Brumbaugh. Khaleesi Kat’s dam, KD Shorty, has produced 15 NCHA money earners of $773,000.

Arosesuchastyle, by Docs Stylish Oak, was an NCHA Futurity Open Semi-Finalist with Costa. In 2019, in addition to their NCHA Super Stakes earnings, the pair have scored money as Open finalists in the Abilene Spectacular and the Cattlemen’s Derby. Bred by her owner, Fazenda Barrinha Corporation, Arosesuchastyle is out of the Smooth As A Cat daughter Arosesuchaclatter LTE $323,079, who carried Costa as a Non-Pro finalist in the 2009 NCHA Futurity and won the 2010 NCHA Super Stakes Open Limited championship with Bart Nichols.

Pepsi Boon, by Once In A Blu Boon, placed as an NCHA Futurity Open Finalist and NCHA Futurity Open Limited Finalist under Ryan Moore, and came into the NCHA Super Stakes with earnings of $26,733. The red roan stallion, bred by Danny Vest out of Paula Dual LTE $40,958, is Moore’s second NCHA Super Stakes Open Limited Finalist. In 2016, Moore and Catareycious LTE $51,403, sired by Halreycious and owned by Larry and Carol Grimes, placed in the Super Stakes Open Limited and went on to win the 2016 Breeders Invitational Open Limited.
