Chosen by a Horse

Book published 2006.

To tell you too much about this slim memoir of a 43-year-old social worker who inadvertently “rescues” herself when she rescues an abused horse, might ruin the spell of Susan Richards’ story.

“Poignant and evocative, this is a book for anyone who has ever loved a horse, and for anyone who has ever lost a loved one,” promises the editor on the front flap. Richards delivers on the promise, but her book is also laced with wit and humor.

For animal lovers of all disciplines, this book is a gem. It’s one to keep and to give to friends.
