Pepto Stylish Pancho, ridden by Craig Thompson, earned his first paycheck with a 218.5-point win in the $675,000 Southern Cutting Futurity, on October 22, in Jackson, MS. Play Red Lil Sangria placed second under J.B. McLamb for John Huddle, Howard, OH.<\/p>\n

Sired by Pepto Stylish Oak and owned by Barnwell Ramsey, Huntersville, NC, Peptos Stylish Pancho marked the second-highest score (216) of the first go-round and 212 in the second go-round. Shaka Red Feather with Todd Gann was the go-round leader with 217 and 216 points.<\/p>\n

It was the second consecutive Southern Futurity win and the fifth Southern title for Thompson, who won last year’s event on Dualin Mate<\/a>, and the Southern Classic on Kits Corona Playboy<\/a>, both owned by Lisa and Jamie Johnson, Benson, NC. Thompson was also champion of the 2006 NCHA Open Futurity on Oh Cay Felix.<\/p>\n
