Joe Kirk Fulton, a leading breeder of Quarter racehorses for 50 years and one of the original Dash For Cash Syndicate members, was a top consignor at the recent Eclipse Sale held at Lone Star Park, Grand Prairie, Texas.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look for breeding and conformation with my horses because I don\u2019t think either one of them is worth a damn without the other,\u201d said Fulton, who ventured into the Quarter Horse world with halter and cutting horses, before switching to racehorses in the late 1960\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Fulton\u2019s first claim to fame with horses came when he donned a black mask and red and black cape, on January 1, 1954 and rode a black Quarter Horse to lead the Texas Tech football team onto the field against Auburn in the Gator Bowl.
