{"id":4002,"date":"2010-04-16T08:00:53","date_gmt":"2010-04-16T13:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/?p=4002"},"modified":"2010-04-21T14:07:27","modified_gmt":"2010-04-21T19:07:27","slug":"bushaw-bags-non-pro-semi-finals-with-219-5-points","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/?p=4002","title":{"rendered":"Bushaw bags Non-Pro Semi-Finals with 219.5 points"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_4005\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4005\" style=\"width: 194px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4005 \" title=\"Chad Bushaw\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/bushaw-chad-20100415a.jpg\" alt=\"Chad Bushaw.\" width=\"194\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/bushaw-chad-20100415a.jpg 242w, https:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/bushaw-chad-20100415a-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4005\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chad Bushaw.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If he&#8217;d had his &#8220;druthers,&#8221; Chad Bushaw would have preferred a smooth, 216-point, three-cow run in the Super Stakes Non-Pro Semi-Finals.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Bushaw wound up in a hoof and nail duel that saw his mare, Twisting Playdough, defend the herd for a full 50 seconds against his second cow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had plenty enough done and needed a spot to quit and safety up a little bit,&#8221; said Bushaw. &#8220;For about the last 25 seconds of the run, I was looking for a place to quit that (second) cow, but I couldn&#8217;t ever get her to turn away \u2014 even for half a second.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just one of those runs where it gets forced on you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Twisting Playdough, by Freckles Fancy Twist, has already earned\u00a0 Bushaw non-pro championships this year at the Augusta Futurity and the Bonanza Cutting, and a reserve championship in the Arbuckle Mountain Derby.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s been a dream mare all year,&#8221; said Bushaw, who raised Twisting Playdough out of Badgers Playdough, by Playdox, the horse he rode to place second in the 2005 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s very gritty and very smart, with lots of heart and integrity,&#8221; said Bushaw, who was co-champion of the 2008 Super Stakes Non-Pro on Cats Ruby. &#8220;And she&#8217;s easy to work. We keep her legged up and fit, and work her a few days and go show.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bushaw was also a finalist in the Non-Pro Gelding Stakes riding Will You Play, by Playdox. He also shows Snow Rey and Reylena Moon in today&#8217;s Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro finals.<\/p>\n<h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4007\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4007\" style=\"width: 130px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4007  \" title=\"Steve Anderson\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/anderson-steve-and-bella-20100415.jpg\" alt=\"Steve Anderson, with daughter, Bella.\" width=\"130\" height=\"230\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4007\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Steve Anderson, with daughter, Bella.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a name=\"gnp\"><\/a>Non-Pro Gelding Stakes champion<\/h3>\n<p>Steve Anderson, Victoria, TX, rode Scootin Dualquita last night to win the Super Stakes Non-Pro Gelding Stakes with 218.5 points and beat a field that included his wife, Michelle, on WSR The Supernatural.<\/p>\n<p>Mary Ann Rapp scored 218 points as reserve champion on ARC Catmando, by High Brow Cat, who she shows in tonight&#8217;s Non-Pro Finals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He had it going on this evening,&#8221; said Anderson of his homebred gelded son of Smart Lil Scoot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The cows were stingy and kind of got him going, and he wanted to save me.
