{"id":3982,"date":"2010-04-15T07:25:27","date_gmt":"2010-04-15T12:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/?p=3982"},"modified":"2010-04-15T07:38:27","modified_gmt":"2010-04-15T12:38:27","slug":"paula-wood-leads-super-stakes-non-pros-to-semi-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/?p=3982","title":{"rendered":"Paula Wood leads Super Stakes Non-Pros to Semi-Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_3985\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3985\" style=\"width: 130px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3985  \" title=\"Paula Wood\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/wood-paula-20091125b.jpg\" alt=\"Paula Wood.\" width=\"130\" height=\"183\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3985\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paula Wood.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;She takes a lot of riding, but she&#8217;s worth it,&#8221; said Paula Wood, Stephenville, TX, of Christys Blue Boon, the horse she showed to top the Super Stakes Non-Pro go-rounds with a cumulative score of 431 points (216 and 215).<\/p>\n<p>Wood was one of 61 riders to advance to today&#8217;s Non-Pro Semi-Finals with scores of 420 and above.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She hasn&#8217;t won a lot, but we haven&#8217;t really been anywhere much,&#8221; said Wood of her Duals Blue Boon daughter. &#8220;We had to wait on her because she&#8217;s kind of immature-minded.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wood also qualified for the Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro finals riding Duallys Fever, by Dual Pep.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3987\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3987\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3987 \" title=\"Bonnie Martin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sallyharrison.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/martin-bonnie-20100414a.jpg\" alt=\"Bonnie Martin.\" width=\"160\" height=\"216\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3987\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bonnie Martin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bonnie Martin, Las Vegas, NV, was the high-scoring rider from the second go-round with 217.5 points, and earned the secondhighest cumulative score of 430.5 points on Light N Lindy, by Light N Lena.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a lot of fun showing her this time because the last time I showed her was at the (NCHA) Futurity and we didn&#8217;t have much luck (in the first go-round) and didn&#8217;t have an opportunity to be a team,&#8221; Martin said.<\/p>\n<p>Martin and her husband, Frank, show primarily on the West Coast, where trainer Russ Miller keeps some of their horses.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Hanson, who is based in Weatherford, TX, trained Light N Lindy, as well as Rubys Royal CD, by CD Royal, who Bonnie qualified for the Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro Finals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Phil&#8217;s program is the same for every horse,&#8221; said Martin. &#8220;I ride two-year-olds at home and enjoy doing that.
