That distinction went to the $1 million Los Alamitos Super Derby; a 400-yard test for 3-year-old Quarter Horses, won by Foose, last year&#8217;s champion 2-year-old colt.<\/p>\n<p>Foose was clear of his Super Derby rivals midway down the stretcth to win by a 1\/2 length in 19.45. Jockey Ramon Sanchez, who earlier this year won the $1.9 million All American Futurity with Running Brook Gal, claimed a record sixth Super Derby victory with Foose, who he rode for trainer Paul Jones and owner Ed Allred.<\/p>\n<p>This was the second million-dollar victory for Foose, who won the Ed Burke Million Futurity last year. The Stel Corona-sired colt earned $398,160 in the Super Derby to take his lifetime earnings to $1,496,938. The victory also earned him a berth in this year&#8217;s $750,000 Champion of Champions, at Los Alamitos on December 12.
