Flo Like A Cat won the PCCHA Futurity with 222 points to earn $28,879, the biggest single check from the 11-day PCCHA Futurity & Stakes, which concluded on Sunday, November 1 in Paso, Robles. The 3-year-old Cats Merada daughter, ridden by Tim Smith for Bill Banner, Galt, CA, had been an open finalist with Smith (7th) at the recent South Point Futurity.<\/p>\n
Dont Look Twice scored 227 points for a big win and $26,090 in the Open Cutting Stakes under Phil Rapp. This was the fifth major open championship win for the High Brow Cat daughter, owned by Waco Bend Ranch, Graham, TX.<\/p>\n
Rapp also placed ninth in the PCCHA Futurity on Waco Bend Ranch’s Iced Out, by Smooth As A Cat, who came to Paso Robles off of back-to-back championship wins at the Brazos Bash <\/a>and the South Point Futurity<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rapp placed with five mounts in the PCCHA Classic\/Challenge, including reserve champion ARC Catty Dual, and earned a total of nearly $60,000, the biggest individual haul from the show.<\/p>\n Cats Quixote Jack wrapped up his limited age event career with 227 points and a seventh championship win, under Kory Pounds in the PCCHA Classic\/Challenge. The High Brow Cat son, owned by Michelle Anderson, has earned over $275,000 during his career.<\/p>\n In the non-pro divisions, Dustin Adams on WSR Clays Freckles; Gary Barker with Hoo Rey For Dreams; and Bonnie Martin on Rubys Royal CD won the Futurity, Cutting Stakes, and Classic\/Challenge, respectively.<\/p>\n Adams, whose wife, Deena, was reserve champion of the Non-Pro Futurity, qualified five horses in the three divisions; Martin qualified three, one of which, Pure Redwhiteandblue, she also showed in the Non-Pro Gelding Stakes finals.<\/p>\n
