Panchita Cat, by High Brow Cat, topped the first day of the Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales at $700,000.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Last year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s NCHA Futurity Sales shattered an all-time record on the first day, when Wood She Be Magic, by Woody Be Tuff, sold in Session I of the 2-Year-Old Sale for $1,050,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday, December 6, the first day of the 2021 NCHA Futurity Sales 2-Year-Old Sessions, saw a total of 94 horses sell for an average price of $75,043, an increase of nearly $25,000 over 2020\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Session I average of $50,451, and a new record for the Futurity Sales. In addition, 2021\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s three Session I high sellers, Panchita Cat, by High Brow Cat; Purdy Smooth Talker, by Smooth Talkin Style; and Little Sisters Kitty, by Metallic Cat, sold for a total of $1,800,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altogether, Session I of the 2-Year-Old Sale saw 17 horses sell for $100,000 or more, including 7 that sold for $200,000 or more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panchita Cat, consigned by Todd Nelson, was purchased for $700,000 by Teton Ridge, Weatherford, Tex. The High Brow Cat daughter, in training with Richard Jordan, is out of Aprils Playboy Bunny, a money earner by Freckles Playboy and the dam of eight money earners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdy Smooth Talker, consigned by Oxbow Ranch, was also purchased by Teton Ridge, for $600,000, in training with Cory Deel. The Smooth Talkin Style daughter is out of Purdy Bet LTE $88,536, a Bet On Me 498 daughter and the dam of four money earners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little Sisters Kitty, consigned by Alan Chappell, brought $500,000 from Teton Ridge. The Metallic Cat daughter, in training with T.J. Good, is a half-sister to Sister CD LTE $852,710 and a full sister to Red Hott Cat LTE $72,245. Her dam, Little Baby Sister, by Dual Pep, is an all-time leading dam with 21 money earners of over $1.4 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fourth-highest seller, Metallic Maserati, by first year sire Metallic Rebel, was consigned by Turner West, Agent for Jared Lesh, and sold to Kevin Smith, Hampstead, NC, for $282,000. Out of the Smart Lena Boon daughter My Other Toys A Car LTE $116,300 and in training with Turner West, Metallic Maserati is a three-quarter brother to Crispy Kreme LTE $192,400 and Cheap Son Glasses LTE $111,476, among 11 money earners of $462,153 out of My Other Toys A Car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
