Dual Rey continued his dominance as #2 leading sire of 2009 and as an all-time leading sire with Reyd’s victory, as well as with fifth-placed Smart Stingrey, also shown by Cox.<\/p>\n
Cat Ichi garnered attention as the sire of four of the 18 Futurity Open finalists from his first crop: Mary Ichi and SDP Lil Ichi Maddie, ridden by Guy Woods, as well as Daintys Ichi Playboy with Craig Thompson, and Teri Ahki under Josh Townsend.<\/p>\n
CD Lights, a leading freshman sire with his first crop in 2008, sired West Texas Futurity Ltd Open champion Lights N Quixote, ridden by Terry Hollis.<\/p>\n
Lloyd Cox was the leading rider of the West Texas Open Futurity with the champion and two other finalists, including Dual Stranger, by Dual Pep, and total earnings of $22,500 ($12,500 as champion).<\/p>\n
Kathy Daughn also showed Blues Stylish Cat, by High Brow Cat, to place fourth and earn a total of $19,500.<\/p>\n
