Hart Photography.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>Thursday, November 29, Fort Worth, Tex.<br \/>\n2018 North Texas Chevy Dealers NCHA Futurity, presented by Great American Insurance<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ken Schultz, Sacramento, Calif., scored 217 points on Thursday to top the first day of Amateur\/Unlimited Amateur competition, as well as Thursday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Amateur contenders. Mike Schraeder, Cypress, Tex., and Bella Anderson, Weatherford, Tex., tied with 216 points to top the Unlimited Amateur field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ken Schultz<\/strong> and Bob Acre Oak ($114,880) made their mark in the early 1990s. After placing third in the 1993 Futurity Non-Pro Finals, Schultz and his Bob Acre Doc gelding placed eighth in the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro and won the Steamboat Springs Derby Non-Pro. After a two-decade hiatus, Schultz, the NCHA earner of $218,979, is back. Last year, he won the PCCHA Futurity Amateur Unlimited championship, as well as the El Rancho Futurity Non-Pro Limited, on TF Cats Remedy ($63,369), by WR This Cats Smart.<\/p>\n<p>Rockin These Tricks, Schultz\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2018 NCHA Futurity mount, is a Rockin W daughter, out of Trick Pepto, the 2010 Cattlemen&#8217;s Derby Open and Limited Open champion under T.J. Good. Rockin These Tricks has produced three NCHA money earners, including Tricks On You ($124,644), by Smooth As A Cat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mike Schraeder<\/strong>, the NCHA earner of $295,115, won back-to-back Southern Futurity amateur championship in 2014 and 2015 riding Time N Tequila and Bearcat Merada. In 2017, he won the West Texas Futurity Limited Non-Pro aboard Smart About Cats and this year, he placed with Game On Smooth in the Breeders Invitational, as well with Sonic Smooth in the Arbuckle Mountain Unlimited Amateur.<\/p>\n<p>Aristocraticaly Cat, Schraeder\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2018 NCHA Futurity mount, is a High Brow Cat son and three-quarter brother to Flash N Silver ($131,000), by Purdy Boy Flash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bella Anderson<\/strong>, the NCHA earner of $132,034, was reserve champion of last year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s NCHA Futurity Unlimited Amateur , and third-placed in the Amateur finals, riding Bobby Jack Cat, by Cats Quixote Jack.
