Brandon Dufurrena, Gainesville, Tex., on Mizpah Cat, by Auspicious Cat, marked 218.5, the day\u2019s second-highest score, while Lee Holsey, Lovelady, Tex., scored 218 points aboard Smooth Lil Cowtown, by Smooth As A Cat.<\/p>\n<p>Megan Miller also scored 217.5 points with Spur That Spot, by Spots Hot, and 215 points on Hey Boo Boo, by Dual Smart Rey. Non-Pro riders with 210 or higher advance to Thursday\u2019s second go-round; Non-Pro Limited riders with 214.5 points advanced.<\/p>\n<p>Carolena Reyn, bred by Megan and her husband Matt, out of Carolena Moon LTE $76,150, is a half-sister to A Smooth Criminal $134,686, and three-quarter sister to Stylish Swagger LTE $120,061, and Reylena Moon LTE $118,075. Matt Miller showed Carolena Reyn, who had earned $60,182 coming into the Super Stakes, as an NCHA Futurity Open semi-finalist, and as champion of the 2018 Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Open.<\/p>\n<p>Megan, the NCHA earner of $1,021,452, won the 2009 NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro aboard Itawtathenapuddycat LTE $325,363 and the 2009 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro on Travs Scooter LTE $221,566, shown by Matt Miller as the 2006 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro champion.<\/p>\n<p>Mizpah Cat LTE $5,012, shown by Brandon Dufurrena, is a three-quarter sister to 2015 NCHA Futurity Open champion Stevie Rey Von LTE $396,472 and Purple Reyn LTE $356,632, out of Miss Ella Rey LTE $375,842. Dufurrena, the NCHA earner of $990,617, showed both Miss Ella Rey and Purple Reyn as Super Stakes Non-Pro finalists in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He also qualified for tomorrow\u2019s second go-round with 213 points on Cherry Chapstick by Metallic Cat.<\/p>\n<p>Beau Galyean showed Stevie Rey Von to win the 2018 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Open on Sunday, April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Smooth Lil Cowtown LTE $69,032, shown by Lee Holsey, was 2017 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro reserve champion with Brandon Westfall. Holsey who acquired the mare following the Futurity, showed her as reserve champion of the 2018 Cattlemen&#8217;s Derby Non-Pro.<\/p>\n<p>Holsey, the NCHA earner of $220,720, Showed Cowtown Lucy LTE $53,816, by Dual Rey, as a 2016 NCHA Futurity Non-Pro and Non-Pro Limited finalist. He also showed Miss Laureyna LTE $62,252, by Smart Royal Rey, as a 2017 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Amateur Unlimited finalist.<\/p>\n<p>The NCHA Super Stakes continues through April 22.
