Paula Wood and Cool N Hot scorched competition on Thursday, with 221 points in the 2018 Bonanza 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Finals. Just three days earlier, Cool N Hot and Kobie Wood, Paula\u2019s husband, had claimed the Bonanza 4-Year-Old Open Finals, for a rare double championship.<\/p>\n

Paula Wood\u2019s Bonanza winnings of $13,411 boosted Cool N Hot\u2019s career earnings to $100,450 and places him firmly in the ranks of leading 4-year-old money earners. Sired by Hottish and bred by Paula Wood, Cool N Hot is out of Donas Cool Cat LTE $315,104, dam of the earners of more than $760,000, including Donas Suen Boon LTE $420,965.<\/p>\n

Lance Cooper scored 216.5 points to earn the reserve championship and $10,728 on Zen And Tonic LTE $60,671. Cooper and Zen And Tonic, by High Brow CD, won the 2017 NCHA Futurity Ltd. Non-Pro championship, as well as the Abilene Spectacular Non-Pro championship<\/p>\n

Megan Miller and Carolena Reyn, by Dual Smart Rey, placed third with 215 points. Carolena Reyn is out of Carolena Moon and half-sister to A Smooth Criminal LTE $134,686, as well as a \u00a0three-quarter sister to Reylena Moon LTE $118,075, and Stylish Swagger LTE $177,833.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Queen scored 221.5 points on Nighttiming, by One Time Pepto, to win the championship of the Bonanza 5\/6-Year-Old Classic. Queen and Nighttiming LTE $56,003 won the 2017 Southern 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Futurity, and Skip Queen, Nighttiming\u2019s trainer and Elizabeth\u2019s husband, showed the horse as a finalist in the 2018 Bonanza Classic Open.<\/p>\n

Three riders split third through fifth place with 216 points: Blakley Colgrove on Sparklin Dual Shorty, by Dual R Smokin; Alexa Stent on Bowmerang, by High Brow Cat; and Ty Moore on Smooth XTC, bu Smooth As A Cat.<\/p>\n
