Mandy Chisum.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Mandy Chisum of San Luis Obispo, California and her 5-year-old gelding Magic Metalman posted the top score of 221 in the first round of the Mercuria NCHA World Series of Cutting July 10 at the Calgary Stampede<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They lead a field of 10 contestants heading for the finals to be held on Wednesday. The first round of the Open is scheduled for Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This will be the third Mercuria finals for Chisum, who has NCHA earnings of more than $379,000. She previously showed in Houston in 2014 and at the Pacific Coast Derby last year.<\/p>\n

Her biggest limited age wins include the 2013 Tunica Non-Pro Classic and the 2013 Breeders Invitational Unlimited Amateur on Woodys Wildest Cat; and this year’s Ike Hamilton Non-Pro Classic on Cats Double Down.<\/p>\n

Magic Metalman is a gelding bred by Alvin Fults by Metallic Cat out of Sweet Abra with earnings of more than $63,000. He and Chisum were Non-Pro finalists this spring at the NCHA Super Stakes Classic and the Breeders Invitational<\/p>\n

Magic Metalman is a full brother to Metallic Rebel, the top money-earning cutting horse so far of calendar year 2017.<\/p>\n
