Holly Muench, Marietta, Okla. , and CD Pretty Cat, scored 223.5 points to win Non-Pro finals of the inaugural \u00a0NCHA Denver Nationals on Thursday, June 29, the final day of the event, and one day after they had claimed the $25,000 Novice Non-Pro reserve championship.<\/p>\n

Harrison Perrin, Brenham, Tex., scored 222 points riding \u00a0Win A Kitty for the Non-Pro reserve championship, while Kim Adolf, Morristown, Ariz., placed third with 219 points on Smooth Criminal Cat.<\/p>\n

Holly Muench, the NCHA earner of $71,584, also won the Non-Pro championship of last year\u2019s NCHA Western Nationals riding CD Pretty Cat LTE $48,249. Together, Muench and the 9-year-old gelding have won or placed in the finals of seven NCHA Nationals divisions between 2013 and 2017. Holly\u2019s husband, trainer Teryn Muench, has shown CD Pretty Cat in five, including two divisions of the Denver Nationals \u2013 the Open division and the $25,000 Novice.<\/p>\n

Holly Muench\u2019s score in the Non-Pro Fianls was the second-highest from all go-rounds and finals during the NCHA Denver Nationals. Only Kenny Platt and Moms Stylish Player, with 225 points in the Open go-round, received a higher score.<\/p>\n

CD Pretty Cat is by Pretty Boy Cat and out of Katie May CD, by CD Olena.<\/p>\n

Reserve champ Harrison Perrin on Win A Kitty.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Harrison Perrin, the NCHA earner of $140,906, and Win A Kitty LTE $155,064 were competitive amateur and non-pro limited age event partners with a tally of 14 finals in 2011 and 2012. This week the 11-year-old High Brow Cat daughter proved she still has her edge. In addition to the Non-Pro reserve title with Perrin, Win A Kitty scored 222 points to claim reserve in the Open Finals with Kenny Platt.<\/p>\n

Perrin, who made his first splash as the 2011 Augusta Futurity 5\/6 Amateur champion on Win A Kitty, also still competes in limited age events on Sandman Cat, a 6-year-old gelded son of Metallic Cat, who has carried her as a finalist in six events, including the NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro Limited.<\/p>\n

Kim Adolf, the NCHA earner of $216,536, and Smooth Criminal Cat LTE $65,511 earned notice in May at the 2017 NCHA Scottsdale Nationals, where they claimed the Non-Pro reserve championship and a place in the $25,000 Novice Non-Pro Finals. Kim\u2019s husband, trainer Todd Adolf, also showed Smooth Criminal Cat as an Open finalist at the NCHA Scottsdale Nationals.<\/p>\n

In addition to Smooth Criminal Cat, Kim Adolf also showed Athenitall in the NCHA Denver Nationals, with a fourth-place finish in the $5,000 Novice Non-Pro Finals, the same division the pair won at the 2017 NCHA Scottsdale Nationals.<\/p>\n
