The 2016 NCHA Futurity Sales, produced by Western Bloodstock Ltd, affirmed the strength of the cutting horse economy in a dazzling week of sales. The $23,235 average was the second-highest in NCHA Futurity Sales history with 701 horses, from 893 offered, selling for a total of $16,287,700.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was an amazing sale that reflects the dedication and commitment of so many people to the cutting industry and to the popularity of the sport of cutting,\u201d said Jeremy Barwick, co-owner with his wife Candace of Western Bloodstock Ltd. \u201cWe are so grateful to the consignors, buyers, breeders, trainers, riders, and our terrific sales staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
The NCHA Futurity Cutting Horse Sale on Saturday, December 10, capped the week with finished cutting horses sold while working cattle. Magic Metallic LTE $128,537, a 6-year-old in training with Beau Galyean, was the high seller at $140,000. Consigned by Fults Ranch, the Metallic Cat daughter, out of Sweet Abra, was purchased by Waco Bend Ranch, Graham, Tex. Magic Metallic is a full sister to the earners of $639,983, including Metallic Rebel LTE $195,124 and Sweet Metallic $157,607.<\/p>\n
Mercedes Smoothe LTE $140,980, in training with Gavin Jordan, was the second-highest seller at $100,000. The 7-year-old Smooth As A Cat daughter, out of CDs Masterpiece, by CD Olena, was consigned by Reata Cutting Horses and purchased by Center Ranch, Centerville, Tex.<\/p>\n
