Jody McGlothlin of Perrin, Texas, marked 222 on Somethingtobelievin to win the Limited Non-Pro finals Monday evening at the Jerry’s Chevrolet NCHA Futurity, presented by Great American Insurance. Australia’s Peter Ryan was second with a 219 on Drip Drop Of Reyn.<\/p>\n

Somethingtobelievein was bred by Shane Plummer by Hydrive Cat out of Playin T Etta, by TR Dual Rey. Playin T Etta was reserve champion of the Non-Pro Breeders Invitational and an NCHA Derby finalist with Christina Galyean. She earned over $100,000, mostly in Non-Pro competition.<\/p>\n

Playin T Etta is also the dam of Tallica, a Mettalic Cat mare that was also a Breeders Invitational reserve champion with Ty Moore, and an earner of $50,000.<\/p>\n

This is McGlothlin’s second win in Will Rogers Coliseum. She was Amateur champion of the 2006 NCHA Derby on Platinum Bob.<\/p>\n

Reserve champion Peter Ryan, from Moura, Queensland, rode Drip Drop Of Reyn, a Dual Smart Rey mare out of Cats Freckles Oak, by Smooth As A Cat. Drip Drop Of Reyn was bred by Pine Island Ranch. Her dam was reserve champion of the Cattlemen’s Derby with Winston Hansma, and she earned $38,000.<\/p>\n

Drip Drop Of Reyn was a $15,000 purchase at last year’s Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales.<\/p>\n

Ryan has previously been a finalist twice in the Amateur division of the NCHA Futurity, once in the Limited Non-Pro and once in the Non-Pro. His highest placing was third in the 2011 Amateur with Smart Rey Badger.<\/p>\n
