R.L. Chartier on A Little Bossy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

R.L. Chartier and A Little Bossy won their second Mercuria NCHA World Series event of the year at the American Royal Show<\/a> in Kansas City. They marked 226 in the finals to beat leading Horse of the Year contender Junie Wood by two and a half points.<\/p>\n

Bred by Bailey Quarter Horses and owned by Gary and Karen Fields of Weatherford, Texas, A Little Bossy is a 9-year-old gelding by CD Lights out of Pistol Smart, an aged event champion that earned $41,000.<\/p>\n

A Little Bossy has earned over $275,000. Chartier won the Mercuria NCHA World Series event at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo earlier in the year. In the past, they teamed up to win both the Open and $10,000 Novice divisions of the 2012 Mercuria NCHA World Finals.<\/p>\n

Runner-up John Mitchell and Slate River Ranch’s Junie Wood have won at the NCHA Super Stakes, Brazos Bash and Southern Futurity this year, as well as taking reserve titles at the NCHA Derby and Cotton Stakes.<\/p>\n

In the Non-Pro finals at the American Royal, Allie Roger of Weatherford, Texas, marked 222 on Billy Joe Rey for a four-point win over Mica Chartier on SL Jaybird.<\/p>\n

Like the Open winner, R.L. Chartier on A Little Bossy, Roger and Billy Joe Rey also won the Mercuria finals at San Antonio this year.<\/p>\n

Billy Joe Rey was bred by Jim McNulty by Dual Rey out of\u00c2\u00a0 Hug Me Darling, a Hug Me Doc mare that has produced five NCHA money earners.<\/p>\n

Besides her Mercuria wins, Roger has shown the gelding to win the El Rancho Non-Pro Derby, and take reserve titles at the Brazos Bash and the Idaho Futurity. Billy Joe Rey has earned more than $89,000.<\/p>\n

Runner-up Mica Chartier and SL Jaybird have teamed up for past wins at the NCHA Super Stakes Classic, NCHA Classic Challenge, the Cotton Stakes, and The Non-Pro Cutting.
