Morgan Cromer marked 225 on Lizzys Gotta Babe to win the Mercuria NCHA World Series Open finals at El Rancho Futurity on September 19.<\/p>\n

World Champion One Time Choice finished second with Chubby Turner with a 223, and the recent Idaho Mercuria champion, Peptos Chic Olena, finished thrid with Todd Bimat with a score of 222.5.<\/p>\n

It was the first World Series win for Lizzys Gotta Babe, and the second for Cromer, a Hall of Fame Rider who scored at Las Vegas this summer on Woodys Wildest Cat.<\/p>\n

Lizzys Gotta Babe is owned by Tim and Missy Drummond of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and was bred by Drummond Land & Cattle Co. The 8-year-old mare is by Lizzys Gotta Player out of Moms Stylish Babe, an NCHA Derby finalist that has produced earners of\u00c2\u00a0 $685,000, including Cat Mom Do ($187,000), My Lizzy Babe ($152,000) and Card Trick ($108,000).<\/p>\n

Moms Stylish Babe is out of $822,000 producer Playboys Mom. And Playboys Mom was out of NCHA Futurity champion and $426,000 producer Lenaette.<\/p>\n

Adan Banuelos won the El Rancho 5\/6-year-old with Lizzys Gotta Babe in 2012. The mare has been a Mercuria World Series finalist seven times. Her win with Morgan Cromer will take her earnings over $72,000.<\/p>\n

In the Non-Pro division, Non-Pro Hall of Famer Bill Lacy of Crested Butte, Colorado marked 223on Jay Moss Cougar to win by one point over Katie Fonsen Young on For Instance.<\/p>\n

Jay Moss Cougar is a homebred 6-year-old by High Brow Cougar out of Ariel Rey, a Dual Rey mare that won the West Texas Futurity and earned $85,000. This was the first Mercuria World Series finals for Jay Moss Cougar, who won the Western States Fall Classic Non-Pro and has been a finalist at the NCHA Super Stakes Classic, Pacific Coast Derby, Cattlemen’s Derby, Abilene Spectacular and the Bonanza. The gelding has earned over $66,000.<\/p>\n

For Bill Lacy, it was his second Mercuria finals and his second win. He rode Cats Puma to win the Mercuria NCHA World Series in Lyon, France in 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
