Thirty of the 32 living past NCHA Futurity champions have confirmed their participation in the Neiman Marcus NCHA Futurity Champions Cup on Friday, November 25, during the NCHA Futurity in Fort Worth. The list includes Buster Welch and Bob Byrd, winners of the first three Futurities – Welch in 1962 and 1963 and Byrd in 1964.

At least two former NCHA Futurity champion horses and their riders will hook up once more for the event – Chiquita Pistol and Tag Rice, and Oh Cay Felix and Craig Thompson – and others are expected, but not yet confirmed.

NCHA Futurity Sales updates

The consignment deadline for the 2011 NCHA Futurity Sales is October 25 NOT October 5, as incorrectly noted on earlier nomination forms. Click here for current forms. Early entries are already listed at westernbloodstock.com, with more arriving daily.

Super Stallion Saturday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on December 10, the day of the NCHA Futurity Open Finals, will feature many great stallions, as well as a presentation of past NCHA Futurity champions.

The Past Futurity Champions Presentation, followed by the NCHA Futurity Seasoned Cutting Horse Sale, will both be held in Watt Arena.
