Ty Moore scored 220 points on Thursday to win the Bonanza 4-Year-Old Non-Pro and $13,734 aboard Scantily Clad, by Metallic Cat. Chad Bushaw and Kyle Manion tied with 217.5 points to split reserve and each claim $9,586 on Wood You See, by Woody Be Tuff, and Smoothest Ride, by Smooth As A Cat, respectively.

Moore, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $1,050,384, won the 2017 Bonanza Non-Pro on Smooth XTC, the same year that he won the Pacific Coast Futurity, West Texas Futurity, Brazos Bash Futurity and Cotton Stakes Futurity on 3-year-old Sweet Sister Cat $57,607; he was also reserve champion of the 2018 Bonanza Non-Pro Classic aboard Smooth XTC $65,362. In addition to the 2019 Bonanza Non-Pro win, so far this year, Moore also placed third in the Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Non-Pro on One Moore Try, by One Time Royalty, and seventh in the 5/6 Classic of the same event on Nineteen Ninty Nine $39,783, by Metallic Cat.

Bushaw, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $3,440,104, counts the 2002 Bonanza Non-Pro Classic and 2010 Bonanza Non-Pro Derby, on Cappuccino And Pasta, and Twisting Playdough, respectively, among a long list of championship wins, including the 2001 and the 2017 NCHA Non-Pro Futurities. Last year, Bushaw’s son, Charles Russell, won the NCHA Futurity
Limited Non-Pro on Wood You See $13,329, a half-brother to CR Gotcha Covered $222,148, by Dualin Boon.

Bushaw’s Crown Ranch is also the breeder of the Metallic Cat son Johnny English $80,270, winner, last week, of the Bonanza Classic Open Limited with Rowdy Larson.

Kyle Manion, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $1,708,548, was also a 2019 Bonanza Classic Non-Pro finalist and won the Classic Non-Pro Novice on Already Smooth $30,823, by Smooth As A Cat. Four-year-old Smoothest Ride, also sired by Smooth As A Cat, is a full brother to Smooth As A Zee $616,978, and three-quarter brother to Eazee E $211,145, the dam of 2018 NCHA Futurity Open champion Crey Zee $227,354, who also won the 2019 Bonanza and the Ike Hamilton Open Derbies.
