Joey Varnadore of Appling, Georgia and Reyminate won two rounds of the NYCHA Senior Youth World Finals while earning 11 points to win the show championship. Ali Good of Ringling, Oklahoma, was second in the World Finals with 8 points, and a rousing 226.5-point run in the third round. Chaser Ray Crouch of Coriscana, Texas was the runaway winner in the year-long World Champion’s race with 226 points.

Varnadore placed fourth in the first round with a 214 behind Ali Good’s leading 222. He won the second round with a 217, and placed third in the third round with a 219 behind Good’s 226.5. His 650 point cumulative score earned him the non-working finals round and an 11-point total for the show.

Five years ago, Varnadore won the Junior Youth World Finals on Reyminate. Last spring, he was a Senior Youth finalist on the gelding at the NCHA Eastern Nationals. Earlier in the year, he was an Amateur and Unlimited Amateur finalist at the Augusta Classic on Pitchforks Bet 013.

Varnadore is an NCHA earner of $91,000.

Reyminate is a 12-year-old bred by Linda Holmes by Dual Rey out of Amanda Stargun. He won the Abilene Spectacular with Paul Hansma in 2010, and was sold for $80,000 at the 2012 Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sales. He has now earned more than $111,000.

With her wins in two rounds of the World Finals, Ali Good has been on a streak over the past year. She was Limited Non-Pro champion of the 2017 NCHA Futurity on Sneakish, rode Cat Atat Cat to win the Non-Pro at this year’s NCHA Western Nationals, the $25,000 Novice Non-Pro and Senior Youth at this year’s NCHA Eastern Nationals, and the $35,000 Non-Pro at last year’s Non-Pro Cutting. She got her first win in Will Rogers Coliseum in the Junior Youth Scholarship Cutting on Cees Little Poo in 2010.

Her mom, Kelly Good, won the 1996 Non-Pro NCHA Classic Challenge on War Lena Babe.

Cat Atat Cat is an 8-year-old gelding bred by Glenn Drake and owned by Jim Good, by High Brow Cat out of Miss Stylish Pepto. The horse has earned more than $100,000.

World Champion Chaser Ray Crouch is an NCHA earner of $33,094. He won the Senior Youth at this year’s NCHA Western Nationals on his World Finals mount, GS Zans Cat. The 11-year-old mare by Smooth As A Cat out of Zans Red Gold has earned more than $167,000.

Chaser earned points at 78 shows during the point year, and also showed Louis The Cat and Smartys Star.

Reserve World Champion Ali Good earned 145 points when all was said and done. In addition to Cat Atat Cat, she also showed Steve Earl.
