2017 NCHA Eastern National Championships – March 10, 2018 – Jackson, Miss.

Junior and Senior Youth riders reigned on Saturday, in go-round competition for the Junior and Senior Youth Finals to be held on Sunday.  Joey Varnadore , Appling, Ga., won the Senior go-round with 222 points riding Reyminate, by Dual Rey, while Colt Moore placed second with 218 points on Catscratch Sister, by WR This Cats Smart, and Levi Martin was third with Halcom X, by Halreycious.

Faith Farris, Midway, Tex., topped the Junior go-round with 220 points aboard Smooth Serena Rey, by Smooth As A Cat. Charles Russell Bushaw scored 217 points for second on Peptotoodie, by Peptotime, and Blake Heid was third with 216 points on Zacks Lil Spotlight, by CD Lights.

Joey Varnadore and 12-year-old Reyminate LTE $110,500 have been partners since 2013, when Joey won the NYCHA World Finals aboard the gelding. Reyminate won the 2010 Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Open with Paul Hansma, who showed him to place in eight more limited age events for previous owners Dub and Christy Leeth.

Joey Varnadore also competes successfully in limited age events, most recently to place in the Augusta Futurity 5/6 Classic Unlimited Amateur and Amateur finals on Pitchforks Bet 013.

Colt Moore, Williston, Fla., was the 2009 NCHA Junior Youth Rookie of the Year and has been an NCHA Eastern Nationals finalist 10 times, including in 2015, when he won the $35,000 Non-Pro Finals on Highwood Dancer.

Levi Martin, Steelville, Mo., placed sixth in the 2015 NCHA $5,000 Novice Non-Pro standings, as well as in the World Finals on Hollys Smart Cat, and also showed Riddle Me Rey to place sixth in the 2016 NCHA Classic Challenge Non-Pro.

Faith Farris won last year’s NCHA Scottsdale Nationals Junior Youth riding Reytheon. She also placed fourth in the NCHA World Finals Junior Youth on Quite A Fat Cat and showed Ginger Pepto as a finalist in the NCHA Eastern Junior Youth.

Charles Russell Bushaw, Weatherford, Tex., was a 2017 NCHA Futurity Unlimited Amateur finalist riding Snappcat; and showed Peptotoodie to place second in the 2017 NCHA World Finals Junior Youth and win the NCHA Eastern Nationals Junior Youth.

Blake Heid, Fort Worth, Tex., was a 217 NCHA Futurity Amateur finalist on PRF Cats Value and in 2018 has earned money as a finalist in the Bonanza 5/6 Amateur on Catty Lil CD, as well as an Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur and Amateur finalist on PRF Cats Value. Blake was also a Junior Youth finalist in last year’s NCHA Eastern Nationals aboard Stylindipity.
