The Preferred Breeders Sale Session I, on Thursday, December 7, maintained the momentum of high volume sales from Wednesday’s Select Yearling Sale. Eighty-seven percent of the 138 horses offered on Thursday sold for $1,982,100. And the market was especially strong for mares and yearling fillies.
Magic With Moves, consigned by Fults Ranch, Amarillo, Tex., was the day’s high-seller at $64,000. The 2008 daughter of Abrakadabracre sold to Kelly Crum, Weatherford, Tex., with two embryos by Metallic Cat. Out of MH Oh Cay With Moves LTE $75,898, Magic With Moves is a full sister to SFR Magic Doll $51,908.
Understated Style, a yearling filly by Docs Stylish Oak, brought $50,000, the second-highest price of the day, from Lew Hall, Highland City, Fla. Consigned by Alexa Stent, Understated Style is out of Olenasduallyfeather LTE $263,022, whose oldest foal is a 3-year-old. Olenas Dually, dam of Olenasduallyfeather, is the producer of 19 earners of $652,058.
Somebodys Spots Hot LTE $32,688, consigned by Fults Ranch, sold for $42,000 to Ray Brazzel, Abilene, Tex. The 2009 daughter of Spots Hot sold with two embryos by Metallic Cat.
Also, each selling for $42,000, were the yearlings fillies One Hot Clover, by Hottish, and Dirti Dancin, by High Brow CD. One Hot Clover, consigned by Miller Cutting Horses and purchased by Glenn Barlow, Gillette, Wyo., is a half-sister to A Smooth Criminal LTE $134,686 and Reylena Moon LTE $118,302, as well as to 13 other money earners out of Carolena Moon LTE $81,347. Dirti Dancin, consigned by Hill Ranches and purchased by Scott Durham, Fort Worth, Tex., is out of Peppys Stylish Lena LTE $183,779, by Docs Stylish Oak and dam of six NCHA money earners.
Hill Ranches was also the consignor of Metallic Metal, the high-selling stallion at $38,000. The 2016 son of Metallic Cat is out of Nurse Gray LTE $93,188, dam of the earners of $608,426. He was purchased by John Semanik, Jacksonville, Fla.
John Wreyne, a 2016 stallion by Dual Rey, sold for $37,000 to Mark Froman, Cameron, Tex. Consigned by Jeff and Jennifer Foland, John Wreyne is out of Hissy Cat LTE $314,699 and a full brother to Johnny Reyngo LTE $191,079 and Hisstereya LTE $131,663.
