CR Tuff Tizzy, Tuesday’s high seller at $350,000

The 2017 NCHA Futurity Sales began on a high note on Tuesday, December 5, in the NCHA Futurity 2-Year-Old Sale Session I, where CR Tuff Tizzy, consigned by Meinzer Livestock LLC sold for $350,000 to Rocking P Ranch, Fort Worth, Tex. And Badboonarising, consigned by Royce Stallcup brought $150,000 from Todd Quirk, Denton Springs, La.

CR Tuff Tizzy, in training with Hunter Meinzer, is a daughter of Woody Be Tuff LTE $351,063, a leading sire in 2017 and sire of 2012 NCHA Futurity Open co-champion CR Tuff Hearted Cat. CR Tuff Tizzy is a half-sister to One Catty Cupid LTE $174,849, out of the Dual Pep daughter ARC Catty Dual LTE $168,762. ARC Catty Dual, who sold in the 2011 NCHA Futurity Sales for $220,000, has produced eight NCHA earners with average earnings of $32,358.

Badboonarising, trained by his consignor, Royce Stallcup, is a black colt sired by Once In A Blu Boon LTE $319,002, whose first foals are 3-year-olds of 2017. A three-quarter brother to  SS Blacks Lil Kitty LTE $185839, Badboonarising is out of Show Biz Kitty, whose dam, Show Biz Sandy LTE $81,222, the 1993 NCHA Open World Champion, is the producer of five money earners with $363,933, including Show Biz Billy LTE $154,193.

Tin Cup, selling at $80,000, was consigned by Holmes Cutting Horses in training with Wes Ashlock. The red roan son of leading sire Metallic Cat is out of Nurse Moss, dam of Melting Snow LTE $99,157, by Metallic Cat, and a half-sister to Dual Rey LTE $123,449, NCHA’s #3 all-time leading sire of earners of $38 million.
