The National Cutting Horse Association has launched a new venue to better accommodate Western and Plains States cutting competitors. The NCHA Scottsdale Nationals and the NCHA Denver Nationals will provide an opportunity for more weekend competitors in all divisions to test their skills at one or both of these premiere events.

The Scottsdale Nationals, which concludes on Wednesday, May 10, after a seven-day run at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Ariz., has already proven a great success with cutters from the West Coast to Canada to Texas, as well all points east and west of the Continental Divide, and Hawaii. Many owners and riders, like Christine King, owner of Reytheon, the horse Faith Farris rode to claim the Junior Youth championship, are also from Arizona.

In fact, Arizona was the birthplace of Lightning Bar and Joe Reed II. Lightning Bar sired Doc Bar and Joe Reed II sired Leo. It would be difficult to find an NCHA performer today without both Doc Bar and Leo in their pedigrees, so competitors are rightfully indebted to the Grand Canyon State.

In addition to camaraderie and history, Scottsdale affords cutters and vendors a premier facility located on 386 acres at the base of the McDowell Mountains, as well as spas, parks, museums and beautiful scenery.

The NCHA Denver Nationals will be held June 23 through the 30th at the historic National Western Stock Show facilities. For additional information: www.nchacutting.com
