Game On Smooth scored 226.5 points on February 23 in Ardmore, Okla, to claim the Arbuckle Mountain Open Futurity championship, as well as the Open Novice and Open Gelding division. Metallic Merry was Open Futurity reserve champion with 225 points.

Shown by T.J. Good for Mike and Debbie Schraeder, Tomball, Tex., and sired by Smooth As A Cat, Game On Smooth earned a total of $39,957 during the event. Including limited non-pro earnings with Mike Schraeder, as well as money earned as an open finalist with Good in the Abilene Spectacular, Game On Smooth currently has career earnings of $53,239.

T.J. Good also scored 217 points to tie for 8/10 riding Lenas O Dual, owned by Lu Liles, Marietta, Okla.

Shown by her owner, Cara Brewer, Jay, Okla., Metallic Merry placed 12th in the 2016 NCHA Open Futurity, was an open finalist in the Abilene Spectacular, and has career earnings of $74,333. The Metallic Cat daughter is out of Playguns Star LTE $115,267, who was shown by Brewer, as well as by Brewer’s parents, Tim and Sue Barry.

Metallic Smart Cat, owned by Cindy Villa, Reno, Nev. and shown by Matt Miller, placed third in the Arbuckle Mountain Open Futurity with 221 points. Sired by Metallic Cat, Metallic Smart Cat, a semi-finalist in the NCHA Open Futurity with Miller, also earned second-place money in the Arbuckle Mountain Open Novice and Open Gelding divisions and currently has career earnings of $39,506.

Regan Plendl, Kingsley, Iowa, riding Mr Metallic Rey, claimed both the Arbuckle Mountain Non-Pro Futurity and the 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur championships. Her score of 223 points topped the Non-Pro Futurity, where NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame inductee Lindy Ashlock, Abilene, Tex., and In Reyverse took reserve with 221 points. Ashely Snider, Lipan, Tex., who placed third with 218 on Sly Style, also won the 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Novice division.

Mr Metallic Rey, by Metallic Cat, also placed fourth with Nick O’Dell in the Arbuckle Mountain Open Futurity. At 16, Regan Pendl won the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Amateur riding MK Kenli and was also a finalist in the 2016 NCHA Futurity Amateur aboard Mr Metallic Rey.

Metallic Rebel pushed his lifetime earnings to $212,486 with a 229-point win in the Arbuckle Mountain 5/6-Year-Old Open. The 5-year-old Metallic Cat son, shown by Beau Galyean for Thomas Guinn, Philadelphia, Miss., ranks second among 2017 money earners, through 2-26-17, with unofficial earnings of $43,790. Metallic Cat gelding Metallic Manziel, with $52,467 through 2-26-17, ranks first among 2017 money earners.

PG Heavily Armed LTE $94,165, scored 227 points under James Payne as reserve champion of the 5/6-Year-Old Open. The 5-year-old Playgun son is owned by Michael and Brenda Armstrong, Marietta, Okla.

Six-year-old Ruby Shadow Cat LTE $$86,166, by Metallic Cat, won the 5/6-Year-Old Non-Pro and the 5/6-Year-Old Non-Pro Gelding with a score of 221 points for Mike Kemna, Valley View, Tex. Ty Moore, Madill, Okla., claimed reserve with 216 points on Set Fire To The Reyn LTE 56,513, by Dual Rey.

Mike Kemna also won the 5/6-Year-Unlimited Amateur with 227 points on Ruby Shadow Cat, while Bonnie Martin placed second and third with 222.5 and 221.5 points on Autumn Rey and Tricks On You, respectively.

In the 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur, won by Regan Plendl with 224 points on Mr Metallic Rey, Alexis Stephas, Chattanooga, Tenn., was reserve champion with 220 points riding Queen Of Hots LTE $20,793. Rocky Davis, Alberta, Canada, scored 213 points on Mouse Ichi, by Cat Ichi, as champion of the 4-Year-Old Amateur, while Carl Hanna, Wichita, Kan., claimed reserve on Hesa Palooza Cat with 211 points.

The 5/6 Amateur championship went to Hilary Watson, Stilwell, Kan., with 225 points on Shady Lil CD LTE $80,367, by High Brow CD, while Peter Parker, Frisco, Tex., and No Time For A Miss, by One Time Pepto went reserve with 219 points.
