Jessica Pietrafeso, 15, of Elbert, Colorado, marked 215.5 on Hal Ofa Filly for a narrow win in the $15,000 Amateur finals at the 6666 Ranch NCHA Western National Championships in Denver Tuesday.

Jan Currier of Wickenburg, Arizona, and Keith McMahan of Mounds, Oklahoma, shared the reserve championship at 215.

Hal Ofa Filly is a 7-year-old mare bred by C.B. Fincher by Halreycious out of CD Fillylena, by CD Olena. The mare was an NCHA Derby Non-Pro finalist with Sam Good in 2013, and has earned more than $55,000. Jessica rode her to the Senior Youth finals at the Western Nationals last weekend.

Jessica tied for the top score of 216 in the $15,000 Amateur go-round.

She has been a three-time finalist in the NCHA Scholarship Cutting at the Summer Spectacular.

Co-reserve champion Jan Currier rode Short San Gin, a 14-year-old gelding by Short San Badger out of Meerly Gin. Keith McMahan rode Pale Face Jose, a 17-year-old by CD Olena out of Joses Dually that has earned more than $235,000.
