Bear Davis of Sacramento, California and Red Solo Catt, by Metallic Cat, scored a three-point win in the Unlimited Amateur division of the Lucas Oil NCHA Super Stakes in Fort Worth on April 5. He marked 219 to put him ahead of Amateur co-champion Mike Townsend of Edmond, Oklahoma on Faith In My Kat, by Smooth As A Cat.

Red Solo Cat was bred by Rod and Mary Jane Kelley by Metallic Cat out of Amanda Starlight, the mare that Mary Jane Kelley rode to win the Non-Pro Super Stakes and Super Stakes Classic in 1993/1994.

Amanda Starlight’s babies include Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro champ Amanda Stargun (Mary Ann Rapp) who in turn produced Open LAE champions Sweet Lil Amanda, Amandas CD and Reyminate.

Bear Davis won championships at the Big Sky Futurity and Pacific Coast Winter Roundup on Red Solo Catt on their way to the Super Stakes.
