Sandwiched between two scores of zero, deep in the sixth set on Friday, Tricks On You and T.J. Good earned 218 points, the high score on the second day of NCHA Futurity Open go-round competition. Armani Cat and Dos Kamikazes, ridden by Morgan Cromer and Wayne Robinson, respectively, each scored 217.5 points, the second-highest score of the day.

Bred and owned by Jackson Land & Cattle Performance Horses, Tricks On You, by Smooth As A Cat, is out of Trick Pepto LTE $59,391, a Peptoboonsmal daughter shown by T.J. Good. Trick Pepto’s dam, Tricka Lena, by Poco San Lena, was shown as 1996 NCHA Futurity Amateur reserve champion with Lisa Clark and is the dam of Trickalenas Choice LTE $85,977.

Armani Cat, by Metallic Cat, is owned by his breeder, West Coast Quarter Horses, Sherman Oaks, Calif. His dam, Tipofthestar, by Grays Starlight, is a full sister to San Starlight, dam of earners of more than $1.3 million, including Reyzin The Cash, 2015 NCHA Derby Open champion under Gary Gonsalves. Armani Cat is half-brother to A Star In Jewels LTE $59,372 and to Royal Tipster, NRCHA Futurity Ltd. Open reserve champion.

Dos Kamikazes, by Scootin Boon, was bred by her owners, Leea Arnold and Dudley Caraway, Weatherford, Tex., out of Smart Lil Tapt, a three-quarter sister to Dont Look Twice $806,394, who is out of Tapt Twice $279,457, producer of earners of more than $1.25 million.
